Which settings are you unable to save?  They all seem to work for me except Smart Indenting.  This is expected because not all languages support Smart Indenting -- for example, Plain Text does not.  When you set "All Languages" to use Smart Indenting, that option will be set for all languages that support it, but the "All Languages" page will still display the conflict warning when you go back to it because the option is not universally supported.  Are you seeing any of the other settings fail to save as well, or is Smart Indenting the only one?

Subject: 2.0RTM: Bug in Text Editor Settings?

It seems like there is a bug in Text Editor > All Languages: Tabs. When loaded the Indenting panel states "The indentation settings for individual text formats conflict with each other" and will not allow me to save the following settings for all languages...

Indenting:
* Smart
Tab:
 Tab Size 4
 Indent Size 4
* Insert Spaces

Yet I can save those exact settings for each individual language one language at a time Would others conclude this may be a bug in the Text Editor settings?

One that I cannot save is the dreaded "Allow Cut or Copy command
without selection", which I want to turn off (in case that wasn't
clear). I unchecked it in All Languages, and every single language as
well just to be on the safe side. My Studio still happily let me cut
and copy where I don't want it to.

Sorry, I was unclear, and incorrect in my report.
My problem is that I cannot turn off the damned "feature" at all!
Regardless of how much I uncheck the box for copy and cut of lines
without selection, it still does just that.

<snip />

Sorry it took some time to get back -- SQL 2005 setup failures has me
preoccupied.

My problem seems to be the Smart Indenting I tried to set from the Text
Editor > All Languages tab.
As I stated, I could apply the setting to individual targets but any attempt
to do so globally from the All Languages tab is not saved.

I understand the explanation by Josh but it would be better to know that ALL
still means ALL.
