I just have 9 projects in my solution. My solution may or may not have a UI
or web service. This particular try at reorganizing my projects to make them
faster to work in, in a soluiton, contains only libraries.
I connect to VSS on a separate server.
I work in a Gigabit speed network
I have 1 GB of memory and 3 GHz Machine.

I can only type about 1 character every 2 seconds because this environment
is soooo slow. I used to use Enteprise templates for separating up my
projects nice and neat in my solution. From various discussions, I thought
that was the problem causing my speed issue and removed them. Still really
slow. I rebuilt my solution file - still slow. I rebuilt my PC - still slow.
I look in Task Manager and devenv is sucking up 99 of CPU and causing 3
million page faults in under 1 minute.

This is...well... I can't say what this is; children may be reading over
your shoulder.

Anyway, it is unacceptable. You can't expect my developers to be impeded
this much by an IDE. And don't tell me the MS solution is to upgrade. How do
I fix this? Is there a hot fix I can download and install? This is rubbish!

Hi Robert,

Review the following list of hotfixes, specially those with the words "stops
responding" or "slow", and request the ones that may apply to your case by
phone at the Microsoft offices of your country (the hotfixes are not
publicly downloadable because they are not fully tested). They are free of
charge, you pay only the phone call, and they send them in a couple of hours
usually.
