VSNET05 - Can't turn of C++ warning

I need to turn off C++ warning C4996 (deprecated function). According to the
docs this should work:

#pragma warning(disable:4996)

It doesn't. Am I missing something, or is it not possible to suppress this
warning?

Thanks.

Which version of the VS2005 beta have you tried this with?

If it's still a problem in a recent CTP release I suggest that you
submit a bug report on it at:

Dear David,

The versions reported on the About box are:

Microsoft Visual Studio 2005
Version 8.0.50215.44 (beta2.050215-4400)

OK, so it's a beta 2 or later build (I don't know).

Go ahead and submit a bug report on it then and see what MS have to
say about it.

Dear David,

As far as I could tell from the site you suggested, it had already been
reported, and so MS discouraged reporting it again. I have no idea,
therefore, when or if it will be attended to.

I've just got the Aug 2005 CTP version working - the pragma appears to
work in this version.

Hi David,

OK - so I said that I would get this release to try it, but I haven't been
able to figure out where it is. Can you provide me with a URL?

Thanks

http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/vs2005/get/

...though it appears only the July CTP is available there in the
non-Express versions.

Thanks David. Do you happen to know:
1) If the July CTP fixed the problem.
2) and if upgrading to the latest CTP requires de-installation of the
previous version.

Thanks again.
