I hope this is not a totally stupid question :) What is the "Pointer" in the
Toolbox for?. I was looking at VS.NET 2005 where the controls have been
separated into categories. Each category has "Pointer" as the first control.
Actually, it is similar in VS.NET 2003. I guess I only notice it now in
VS.NET 2005 as there are so many categories now.

Well, maybe not TOTALLY stupid... :) I'm pretty sure you're talking about the selection tool.
When this tool is selected, it allows you to select controls/items on the dialog/form, or the whole
dialog/form, and move, delete, display properties, etc. for the selected object(s).

It's for de-selecting whatever may have been previously selected and getting
you to a point where you can select something else.
