Is there a way to force VS2003 IDE to stop auto reformatting (or should I
say "damaging"
an existing format) of aspx pages ? I have all "Apply Autoamtic Formatting"
checkboxes
in Tools/Options/Text Editor/HTML/XML  *unchecked*. Anything more I could do
to stop
this (stupid) VS IDE behavior ?

Hi Velver,

I think you mean the problem VS.NET will auto-formatting(sometimes
mis-formatting) the html source when switching between design-view and
html-view, I am afraid this is a known issue of the VS.NET2003 IDE.

And currently, there isn't any setting in VS2003 IDE to disable such
behavior and we don't have the hotfix for VS.NET 2003 to this issue
neither. But we do understand the inconvenience it brings to the VS.NET
users and apologize for it.

However this issue is already fixed in the VS.NET 2005(Whidbey):
Preview of Web Development with Visual Studio Whidbey-----Better Source
Code Editing
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnvs05/html
/webdevinwhidbey.asp

Thanks for your understanding!

Best regards,

Gary Chang
