Hi,
1. The tool save the roles but cannot create users. It keeps asking me to
use a different password. Am I doing something wrong

2. my default browser was mozilla at the time I installed VS.net 2005. I
thought this could be the problem so I have changed the default browser to
IE6. When I run the Website Admin tool it still loads in recorgnizes mozilla.
The same happens when I select a page to view in bowser

The best place to ask ASP.NET questions is forums at www.asp.net. There you
can get the answer from ASP.NET team members.

Thanks

Hi k_james,

Welcome to MSDN newsgroup.
As for the two problems on VS.NET Whidbey you mentioned, here are some of
my understanding:

1. For creating new users in the ASP.NET2.0's web admin page, yes, I've
also encountered the message indicate me to
change other new password, I think this is because our input password are
too simple(for example, password is the same as username). Have you tried
using some more complex password such as "Password01!"?

2. As for changing the default browser used to visit the asp.net webpage in
VS.NET2005, we should also configure this in VS.NET2005 rather than rely on
the OS's default browser. We can find the setting through the following
steps:

Right click the project (or a single page) in the VS.NET's Solution
Explorer, we can see the "Browse with..." menu,

Click the "Browse with..." menu and in the popup dialog, we can find the
browser list and a "set of default" button.

I think this is the setting you're looking for.
BTW, as Mikhail Arkhipov  mentioned, the www.asp.net is a very good place
for discussing ASP.NET(1.X OR 2.0) issues, you can also found many helpful
resources there.

Hope helps. Thanks,

Hi Steven

Thanks it all worked. Is it possible to change the complexity to say, use
numbers and characters excluding the symbols

Thanks for your followup k_james,

Something like you said but not quite exactly. Here is a weblog article
discussing on this feature:

#Changing the Password Complexity in ASP.NET V2.0
http://weblogs.asp.net/owscott/archive/2005/05/11/406550.aspx

Also,I'm not quite familiar with such small features in ASP.NET2.0 either.
If you have interesting , you can consult some experts in the www.asp.net
to see whether there're any other similiar features in the comming new
release :-)
