Hello All:

I have installed VS .net 2003 enterprise version with no errors. But, when
I attempt to start vs, The IDE displays for a quick second then on top of
the IDE I get the general WINXP error that an error occured and the app
has to close. It happens every time.

I have uninstalled and re-installed three times same error.

I am using windows XP Pro and have "all" updates.

Any ideas?

By the way, here's the actual error message:

"Microsoft Development Environment has encountered a problem and needs to
close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience."

And here's the error report info sent to microsoft:

Error details:
An unhandled exception has been caught by the VSW exception filter.

Error Signature:
   AppName: devenv.exe
   AppVer: 7.0.9466.0
   ModName: msitss55.dll
   ModVer: 5.50.40607.16
   Offset: 0000a8b2

Help would be appreciated
