Focus Bug in VS.Net 2003 with C/C++ projects

Using VS.Net 2003 I have a problem which is driving me nuts. When
editing C++/.h files the focus is continually reset to the current
document window ie if I open a docked Find window the focus returns in
a couple of seconds to the main editor window. Clicking in any docked
window causes the focus to go to that window but then almost
immediately returns to the main document window.

This occurs on only with C++ projects for some reason, I dont have
this problem with C#, ASP.Net or VB.Net projects.

Other developers here dont have this issue.

I've found a couple of other newsgroup posts with this issue but no
resolutions,

Any thoughts ?

Thanks,
John

Hi John,

I havn't found any similar case in our internal database, does this problem
happen from time to time?

By the way, do you have installed any VS.NET Add-in or helper tools
software with the IDE?

Thanks!

Best regards,

Gary Chang

I too have this problem.  The way it happens for me is the following:
1.  Start debugging an application.
2.  Open the 'Output' window and make sure it isn't docked to the
application.  Drag the window somewhere off of the VS.NET 2003 IDE (in my
case, it goes on my second monitor).
3.  Hit some breakpoint in your code.
4.  Now, click inside of the output window and press Ctrl-f.
5.  Type in some matching text and hit enter.
It finds the text, but if you then hit F3 for find next, it looks in a
different window as the Output window is no longer active.
