Uninstall of Visual Studio 2005 beta causes problems for Visual Studio 2003

After I uninstalled a preview copy of Visual Studio 2005 my version of
Visual Studio 2003 had problems. Specifically I am unable to add any
new items, classes, components, etc. to a Visual Studio project. When
I try to add an item I get "unspecified error".
I have run the repair option on Visual Studio 2003 twice now, with no
luck.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I suppose that it's too late, but Visual Studio 2005 is not even in beta and
the CD cover warns not to install it in a production computer, or to install
it on a computer where you don?t mind to reformat the hard drive ...

If the repair does not work, uninstall it and re-install it from scratch. It
could be that VS.NET 2005 unregistered some ActiveX DLLs, and the repair of
VS.NET 2003 does not re-register them because they are already present in
the hard disk.

Clearly they weren't kidding about that.

I've tried this. It doesn't work either...
