Anyone have constructive comments about word wrapping in the text editor?

I find that it takes legible text and creates a virtually unreadable mess of
text.

I keep the length of each line to fit in the screen witdh and I turn off
word wrapping.

Thanks for the response, but that doesn't really help.  I'm talking about
*using* the word-wrap feature, not disabling it.

For a variety of reasons, keeping lines to screen-width isn't always possible
or practical.  It would be nice if the word wrap feature (that I *paid* for)
actually did a half-way decent job of wrapping long lines _while_ keeping code
readable...

Any other comments regarding the feature?
