Is it true you can't develop unmanaged VB (obviously since it's VB there is a
runtime so it's sort of managed, but I mean non-.NET, ala VB6) with VS.NET
2003?  We're looking over what tools we need for a developer's desktop and
one of the application we're working on is a VB6 application.  I guess we
can't build that with VS.NET 2003?

Nope, got to have vb6.0 ide etc. Having had to support vb6 applications
passed onto us from other software shops my advise is, unless its for
distribution to the wide public or is publishing com controls, migrate it
to vb.net.

It will be faster than wasting time with the crappy controls and tools in
vb6.0. Doesn't matter if its got 1000 or 100,000 lines, translating it will
be faster.

Hi Nick,

Definitely VS.NET can not work with VB6 code without conversion or produce a
VB6 exe.

It can interop with COM, but that's all.

You need the VB6 IDE for that application.
