The IDE is throwing the following error when trying to update a web reference
using Visual Studio 2005

The custom tool 'MSDiscoCodeGenerator' failed. Exception of type
'System.Exception' was thrown.

Have you tried to delete that web reference and add it again, does it work?

By the way, does this problem occur to any other web references' updataing?

Thanks!

If I delete the web reference I am able to add it back in successfully and
can then even perform the update web reference.

Once I get this error then I can no longer update any web reference.

Thanks,

Hi Buckeye,

That's OK, It appears to be a VS IDE internal error causued such problem.
Currently I think you need to the above method to workaround such problem...

Thanks!

Try to save the Web reference with other name, then if you need you can rename it. This solved the same problem for me
