How can I get rid of projects on the Start Page list?  I
open projects one time for reference, and they clutter up
the list forever!  Any way to remove an item from that
list?

Go into your My Documents folder and then into the VS Projects folder.
Delete the project folder there since it only contains the .sln file to the
solution.
