Hi

Does anyone know if you can build against v2 of the .Net framework in VS.NET
2003?  Or build against V1.1 of the framework with VS.Net 2005 (Beta)?

I don?t think so:

- VS.NET 2002 is tied to .NET Framework 1.0
- VS.NET 2003 is tied to .NET Framework 1.1
- VS 2005 likely will be tied to .NET Framework 2.0

Another different thing is that if once compiled with a target framework, an
app can run with another framework, which is controlled through its config
file...

Carlos,

Does this mean:
With VS.NET 2002 I can only build applications using the .NET Framework 1.0?
There is no way to use features of .NET Framework 1.1, even this framework
is installed on the machine?
However, the compiled application could be deployed on machines with .NET
Framework 1.1 installed only (for instance Win XP, SP2 without any prior
installed .NET Framework)?

Thanks and regards,
Klaus

Exactly.

Not during development with VS.NET 2002, you need VS.NET 2003.

Yes, that's right, but you need to do some tests.
