Why are Visual Studio 2005 Start Page events so out of date?

Is there a way to get a refreshed upto-date list?

Have you checked your local settings? Whether or not events are updated and
the frequency of updates are both controlled by settings within Visual Studio.
See Tools | Options | Environment | Startup.
Is the Download Content check box checked?
