When can we expect 64 bit VS 2005 support for .NET framework 3.0.
The Msdn Subscription downloads show that the x86 version is out of beta,
but no signs of the 64 bit version.

Hello Randy,
At first, I would like to confirm whether you means by "VS 2005 support for
.NET framework 3.0" is "Visual Studio 2005 Extensions for .NET Framework
3.0 (Windows Workflow Foundation)" or not.
There are four features of .NET Framework 3.0, includes Windows
Presentation Foundation (WPF), Windows Workflow Foundation (WWF), Windows
Communication Foundation (WCF) and Windows CardSpace (WCS).
I searched on MSDN Subscriber Downloads Website. The only thing I could
find out is Visual Studio 2005 Extensions for .NET Framework 3.0 (Windows
Workflow Foundation).
If this is the case, the answer is yes. This Extension has been released on
11/6/2006. I checked the supported operating systems from VS 2005
Extensions for WWF Readme. It also could works on 64bit server. Do you face
any issue on this?

Second, there is no 64-bit version of Visual Studio 2005. VS 2005 is
available only as a 32-bit app. However, you can install VS on a 64-bit OS
and use it to create/launch/debug 64-bit apps. If you would like to create
64-bit apps, you could change Solution Platform from Configuration Manager
explicitly. I'm not sure what do you mean by "64 bit VS 2005 support for
.NET framework 3.0". Do you mean 64 bit .Net Framework 3.0?

Hope this helps. If you still have anything unclear, please feel free to
update here. I'm glad to assist you.

I am interested in the WPF. In order to prepare for a RFP response I need to
evaluate the possibility of using screens in both Web and Windows Client Apps.
My understanding is that Visual Studio 2005 SP1 Update for Windows Vista
(x86) should not be installed on 64 bit versions of Windows Vista.

Hello Randy,
Thanks for your reply.
It seems like what you are really looking for is Visual Studio 2005
extensions for .NET Framework 3.0 (WCF & WPF). If I misunderstand anything
here, please kindly correct me.
If this is the case, I'm afraid the latest version is November 2006 CTP. We
could get from

As far as I know, this extension has not been released so far either on x86
or 64bit. Am I missing something? If you get the released version for x86
from MSDN Subscriber Downloads Website, would you please send me a
Screen-Shoot? After that, I could consult with Product team for an official
reply. My alias is v-wywang@microsoft.com.
By the way, according to the document about VS 2005 sp1 update for Vista, I
noticed it's supported both on Vista Enterprise x64 and on Ultimate x64. Do
you meet any issue on this? Please feel free to update here. I'm glad to
assist you.
