Hello all,
Interesting problem which needs a solution!! I have a ASP.NET application
which runs fine on my machine and local IE settings, but it is slow and pages will
not show up on my friend's machine who has Windows XP and IE v. 6.0.28. I have slightly the same verion of IE v. 6.0.26 but I dont have any problems running. The key thing is that my friend lives far and I am right next to the server. So my question is, is there any configuration for IE that my friend does not have or is there something else that is causing this problem?
Sincerely,
Al

Hi Al,
I doubt there are any problems between ASP.NET and IE 6.x.
Two questions for you though:
- Is your friend running ZoneAlarm firewall? The last version of
ZoneAlarm (the free edition anyway - don't know about their commercial
version) raises problems as you described. In that case - turn on XP's
firewall and shut down the ZoneAlarm service and see if that helps.
- Don't think this is the issue - you should get an error indicating
this but to be sure: Check that the target computer (your friends) is
running the same version of .NET framework as your developing
environment.
Hope this helps!
By the way - is Steve Dente still on C3 technologies? Say hello to him
from me in that case! Thomas Andersson (the swede).
