The standard way of doing this is using "//x" and "//d" parameter of
cscript.exe or wscript.exe.

Basically, "//X" option will tell the system to immediately launch a "Do
you want to debug" prompt dialog, so that you can choose a debugger to
debug from the first line of code. Use it like this:
wscript.exe //X <path to script>
cscript.exe //X <path to script>

"//D" executes the vbs file with debugging enabled, which allows a "Do you
want to debug" prompt to appear on unhandled errors (also enables Stop in
VBScript and "debugger;" in JScript). Use it like this:
wscript.exe //D <path to script>
cscript.exe //D <path to script>
