hi all,
I am trying to access Sql server remotely through Server
explorer... is that possible?
I thank you for your help

Yes.

Just select "Add Connection" on the Data Connections node.

Supply the server name, instance name (if used), user name and password.

Regards

Richard

I am not sure what the problem is, perhaps the following suggestions may
help.

1) Make sure you have permission to access the SQLServer.
2) Can you ping the machine?   ping 68.65.85.69
3) Do you have the server location correct / doesnt the server have a name?
4) Does the server have an instance name? If so then you should attempt to
connect to the server in the following way: 68.65.85.69\<instance name>

It really sounds like you should speak to your administrator.
