Hello,
I'm trying to catch an event when a file is added to my project. I'm using
macros in VS2005. In the event I want to set some custom properties on my
newly added file.
I cannot get itemAdded to be fired. I've tried using DTE.ProjectsEvents in
the IDE but that didn't work. I then added the following line and a handler.
<System.ContextStaticAttribute()> Public WithEvents myVCProjectEngineEvents
As Microsoft.VisualStudio.VCProjectEngine.VCProjectEngineEvents
Private Sub myVCProjectEngineEvents_ItemAdded(ByVal Item As Object, ByVal
ItemParent As Object) Handles myVCProjectEngineEvents.ItemAdded
MsgBox("boo")
End Sub
But this didn't work either. Any clues for a VC project in vs2005?
Regards,
Shed

Hi Shed,
The VCProjectEngineEvents are not Visual Studio IDE's EnviornmentEvents,
only the EnviornmentEvents could be handled by the VS Macro. The
VCProjectEngineEvents should be used in a VS add-in and VS Packages.
The following newsgroup thread has a discussion about VCProjectEngine and
an addin code snippet on VCProjectEngineEvents:
A tutorial on how to visually interact with the C# editor ?

Wish it helps!
Thanks!
