Hello

The VSTemplate (WizardExtension) is the new approach for creating
custom projects in VS 2005. i'm trying to find information on whether
its possible to create the same for custom project types.  my project
uses vsip (visual studio sdk) and i wonder if i can use the vstemplate
method to add projects and project items.  Or do i need to continue to
use the .vsdir method to do this. If i do need to switch then how to i
specify the package clsid etc which we need to invoke, i.e. how do i
convert from .vsdir to .vstemplate

Thanks a lot

Yes, you can use a VSTemplate to a projects and project items via automation.
See the "Development Tools and Languages\Visual Studio\Integrated Development
Environment for Visual Studio\Managing Solutions, Projects, and Items\Visual
Studio Templates\Customizing Templates\How to: Use Wizards with Project Templates"
topic in the Visual Studio 2005 help (ms-help://MS.MSDNQTR.v80.en/MS.MSDN.v80/MS.VisualStudio.v80.en/dv_vssoln/html/47ee26cf-67b7-4ff1-8a9d-ab11a725405c.htm).
