Hi all,
I'm trying to add items to toolbox from my dll. In Choose Toolbox Items
dialog->.NET
Framework Components->Browse I'm selecting my dll to add my windows forms
controls => and
always it gives me an error :"Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 has encountered a
problem and
needs to close". Of course I'm sending the error report to Ms, BUT where do
I find more info
about what it is wrong with my dll ???
Error details don't help me at all and Debug button seems it is not working.
I found 2 errors in Event viewer-Application:

And, of course, no Additional info about this issue at Help and Support
center.
It is almost the same dll that I was using SUCCESFULLY in Visual Studio .NET
2003, but, of
course, now is recompiled in VS2005 with minor changes. It is a pretty
complex dll, with
multiple types.
I have Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition for Developers + Windows XP SP2
installed on a clean
computer. I'm getting the same error on a diferent computer.
How can I find what it is wrong with my dll ??
Thanks for any advice.

Hi Bragadiru,
>It is almost the same dll that I was using SUCCESFULLY in
>Visual Studio .NET 2003, but, of
The Visual Studio 2005 needs to use the .NET Framework 2.0 control, since
your control assembly is built by VS.NET 2003, I think it should be a .NET
Framework 1.1 control, this may be the reason why it could be used under
VS2005.
By the way, this newsgroup focuses on the issues of Visual Studio's macros,
add-ins, and VSPackage development, I suggest you can ask this problem in a
more appropriate newsgroup about WinForm control, you'd get better and
quicker help there:
microsoft.public.dotnet.framwork.winforms
Thanks for your understanding!
Best regards,
Gary Chang

Hi,
I'm using now .NET Framework 2.0 controls. As I said my dll is fully
recompiled in VS 2005 => this cannot be a problem. Basically, my windows
controls are inherited from System.Windows.Forms. TextBox, ComboBox, ... +
custom properties and methods, nothing else.
It is very annoying that I don't find more info about what is wrong with my
dll !!! This was the main question.
Since there is no toolbox related forum, I thought that add items to VS
toolbox means extensibility :). I would take your suggestion to post on
winforms forum, too. Maybe I get more luck there.
Thanks anyway
