I have created a web server to access a SQL sever database.  The web
server
works fine on my XP machine but when I tried to set it up on the 2003
server
and try to access the web services I am getting an error 404.  I have
read
messages that the server is not setup correctly to access the web
service.
Can anyone give me any information on this problem.

Thanks
Dale

Firstly, if you put an HTML file in the same virtual directory as your web
service, can you browse to it?

Eric,
Last night, I tried what you suggested and here is what I did and saw.

I was login as the administrator and have the new web site using
windows Integrated Windows authentication since it is an Intranet
application.
I created a simple HTML page to display "hello world" and put it on the
root of the web server (wwwroot).  I then used IE and was able to bring
it up with no problems (http://localhost/test.htm).  I then moved the
HTML file to the Company Web site and again used IE to bring it up with
no problems.  Then I moved the HTML file to the new web service site
and used IE to bring it up but got the Error 404.  I also tried to
bring up the Company Web site using the aspx pages but got the 404
error too.  But I am not to sure I was accessing it correctly or not.

I also went to the .Net Framework 1.44xxxx directory and ran
aspnet_regiis -i.

Under IIS manager Web Service, I verified that ASP was enabled.  I also
found out that the .Net framework 1.44xx and 2.xxxx were both loaded.
The Web Service was developed using the .Net framework 1.44xxx.  Should
I have the system administrator remove the .Net framework 2.xxxx?

Any ideas?

Eric,
I found out last night that the Administrator has turned off the
Company Web site.

Eric or John,
The admistrator is tring to get the defalt Company web site up and
running that comes with SBS 2003.  He has the test html file to come up
but still can not get the Company web site to come up.  Any ideas what
may be turn off on SBS 2003 on this problem?

Once he has that problem resolved I may hoping the problem with my web
service will be cleared up.  I think it may be an access issue.  Any
ideas?

Dale

Have you configured the "Application Server" (IIS) to allow ASP?
