Hi,

We have a problem accessing a web service hosted on a server on our local
network through an proxy server which is also part of the local network.

Our administrator set up the proxy for myself and collegue so that it
required authentication.  He can access the web service (written in VB .NET
2003) with a windows forms client (also VB.NET 2003), but I cannot.
Furthermore, I could access it from a laptop just a couple of days ago until
I applied some updates via windows update, and now I can't access it from the
laptop either.

My collegue already had all of the updates installed.  I think it must be
down to some setting on my machine but I'm not sure.  In the ISA server log
file, my requests are identified as from an anonymous user whilst my
collegues are correctly identified. (we both have accounts set up on the
proxy server).

Any help would be appreciated, I'm really stumped on this one.

Have you checked the proxy settings in Internet Explorer's Tools > Options >
Connection settings ?

Yes, these are fine.  The 'ByPass Proxy for local addresses' is unchecked to
ensure the request is forced through the proxy server.  I can browse the
internet with no problems through IE.
