How can I access web-services through client browser's java-scripts?

Every comment is appreciated,

I dont see any easy way that you can do it with JS alone. You can however
create a .NET object that gets downloaded into the browser that consumes the
webservice, and that itself is controlled by the JS. This is certainly a lot
simpler if your clients have .NET installed.

Thanks for your reply,
But I want to do that using JavaScript without using IE hosted controls or
ActiveX controls.

What you want, and what you get are not always the same.

You *can* call a webservice from JS, but its a LOT of work and I would
strongly recommend against it unless you really know what you are doing.

Yes, what we want and what we get are not always the same while we like to
be the same; something dependent on who gives.

I will be pleased if you help me to know how to call web-service from
java-script?
I will consider your recommendation; I will use it only when I have to.

Thanks,
Jamal

As I said, its complex but I can give you at least some pointers.

Webservices are just HTTP Posts. Using JS you can construct/alter a form and
submit it. Then you can parse the result, if you do all of this in an IFrame.

Its not easy - especially if your webservice is anything beyond trivial.

You could try using the web service HTC control if you had IE 5.0 or late...i
don't believe this is supported in other browsers though...
