Does anyone know if the recently released VS 2005 Beta2 is compatible with
WSE 2.0?

Yes I do. I have tried it and it works perfectly. I have also tested the
HTTPListener class provided by .Net 2.0 (a wrapper over HTTP.sys) to receive
Http requests in a WSE 2.0 application without using IIS 6.0
