Intermittent Exception - The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish secure channel for SSL/TLS

Hi,

We are using web services that are secured using SSL, everything works fine,
but every now and then we get an error:

>>START<<
System.Net.WebException: The underlying connection was closed: Could not
establish secure channel for SSL/TLS. ---> System.IO.IOException: Unable to
read data from the transport connection. --->
System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: An existing connection was forcibly
closed by the remote host
>>END<<

We probably get about 2 of these a day, the rest of the time it works
perfectly.

I have seen quite a few posts on the web reporting similar behaviour, but
have did not see anyone come back with a solution that worked for them.

We are running IIS6.0 on Windows 2003 servers and the client machines are
running .NET version 1.1

We have also tried experimenting with various settings under IIS and have
not been able to properly resolve it.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Has anyone been able to reliably reproduce the exception? We can't seem to
get it to error in our dev environment.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Rob
