hi,

I am trying to use my webservice to serialize an object to my winforms
app. In my webservice I am doing:
[WebMethod]
public byte[] SerializeThis( ObjP myObj )
{
IFormatter formatter = new SoapFormatter();
MemoryStream stream = new MemoryStream();
formatter.Serialize( stream, myObj );
return( stream.ToArray() );
}

but it is not working. Does anyone has any hint or best practice about
how to serialize objects via webservice?

TIA

The best way to return a byte array is use custom binary serialization.
I wrote a little example about it that you can download from
http://prototypes.shockbyte.com.ar/misc/binaryserializationsample.zip.
I hope this answer can help you.

P.D.: I think that the right place for your question is
microsoft.public.dotnet.framework.webservices
