WS-Eventing via HTTP

Hi,

There was a post on this subject [1] earlier but doesn't give any clear
answer to the problem.

I studied the messaging article posted on WSE by Simon Horrel and the
accompanied sample code. This article, though explains Eventing via TCP it
ignores the HTTP. I need to workout how to do event publishing and
subscribing via HTTP for one of the projects and I am involved with. So any
ideas, samples, resource links on this subject will be very very useful.

On a related subject, does anyone give me an idea of the situation at
Microsoft with the WS-Notification specification?

SB,

My apologies for the late reply.

Christian Weyer [1] and I [2] decided to move the Plumbwork Orange project
from GotDotNet [3] to SourceForge [4] because we felt that GotDotNet didn't
provide the same sort of features as SourceForge. That stated, the project
home page is (now) located at the following URL:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/plumbworkorange/

Currently, we do not have any binaries available because the bits are still
in a flux (read "WSE v2.0 SP 1 & WS-Addressing vLatest"). However, I
strongly encourage you to download & build the source via CVS. (I recommend
TortoiseCVS - it rocks.) You shouldn't have too many problems getting a demo
up & running. That stated, I will be posting an update to my blog in the
next few days that shows how to get the Plumbwork Orange bits working.

FWIW, the implementation of WS-Eventing in the Plumbwork Orange project
currently supports all MEPs (i.e. Subscribe, GetStatus, Renew, Unsubscribe)
and a push delivery mode (this is extensible and is supported by the bits).
We support a provider-based model for subscription persistance. Currently, I
use XML in development because it's easy to work with. Finally, MEPs and
notifications use SoapSender/SoapReceiver for transmission, making the
plumbwork transport-agnostic.

HTH.

John

Thanks John. I will try to download the files and build. As the Orange
project supports all the MEPs I should be able to setup something for my
specific requirement based on this.

SB
