Hi,
i've just installed WSE 3.0, but the Plugin isn't integrated in the Visual
Studio IDE. I have VS2005 (full, not rc) and I read the Release Notes, but I
couldn't get it to work.
I just looked for the Addings Folder in mydocuments\visual studio 2005 but
there isn't one. Is there a way to manually add it.

Hi Andi,
Make sure to choose the option "Visual Studio Developer" during the WSE
setup.

I guess that you have chosen the Visual Studio Develop option during
installation. There is a known issue documented in the WSE 3.0 Readme:
"The WSE Settings Tool does not appear on the Visual Studio 2005 Solution
Explorer content menu. This occurs if you install Visual Studio 2005 and then
install WSE 3.0 without first having started Visual Studio 2005. Ensure that
you start Visual Studio 2005 before installing WSE 3.0. Alternatively you can
use the Visual Studio 2005 Add-in Manager available from the Tools menu item
to manually install the WSE 3.0 Settings tool if you do install WSE 3.0
without having started Visual Studio 2005 first. "
Hope this helps.

I ran into the same problem. My previous post didn't fix the issue. I tried
to manually add the Settings Tool via the VS Add-In Manager, but the WSE
Add-In didn't show up. The problem is, that WSE installs the WSE-Add-In
Definition File in the following path:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Microsoft\MSEnvShared\Addins
Visual Studio seems to look for possible Add-Ins in
C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\<CURRENT USER>\Application
Data\Microsoft\MSEnvShared\Addins
Just copy the MSEnvShared\Addins directory from 'All users' to '<CURRENT
USER>'. Thereafter you should be able to manually activate the WSE Add-In via
Add-In Manager.
I hope I translated the paths correctly. I'm currently working with a german
XP Prof.

Thanks, I'll try it. I have also a german version. Maybe it is a bug only in
german or non-english versions.
