Hasn't this been out for a couple months?  Or was the 3.0 version I have
been using pre-beta1?

Hi William,
The versions shipped on June and July were pre-beta versions (CTP).

It's only available for MSDN suscribers.

that's clearly daft...were it so there would be no point in making wse 3.0
beta 1 available to mere mortals...

doh! try again...perhaps someone from ms who knows can help?

On the WSE 3.0 Beta download page there is a link to
http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/vs2005/get/ where the Visual Studio 2005
Express Editions August CTP is available for free that gives you the Aug .NET
SDK. The Express SKUs do not support add-ins so you will need to run the WSE
configuration tool standalone

Thanks. Mark

Installing the Express Editions also gives you this version of the .NET
Framework 2.0.

Thanks. Mark

it sure does...but that was not my gripe.

i would prefer to be presented with:

1. here is wse 3.0 beta 1
2. here is the .net 2.0 runtime required for 1.
3. here is the .net 2.0 sdk required
4. here for those who don't have msdn subs is vsx
5. here for those who have msdn subs is the matching vs

the above seems reasonable to me.

as a very serious fan of wse i have to say that in the absence of the above
wse b1 remains unused by me.

anyway, time will make all things right and wse will, in the not to distant
future, once again be firing on all cylinders....
