Hello,

I've started to get the following error:

"An internal error has occurred in the compiler.  To work around the
problem, try simplifying or changing the program.  The system cannot find
the file specified."

Anyone seen this one?  I've searched around and seem similar ones, but the
"cannot find the file" part is new.  The other errors like this that I have
seen discussed give the "near the locations below" message, and haven't been
followed up with anything helpful.

Any suggestions?

Keith

Keith,

An internal compiler error generally occurs when there is a bug in the
compiler. Can you post some code that we can use to reproduce the problem?

Thanks,

Michael Green

Michael,

This error is shown in the Task List at the same time I get the automatic
error reporting dialog that says

"Microsoft Visual J# .NET Compiler has encountered a problem, and needs to
close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience." etc.

I have submitted a few error reports via this dialog already, but will get
some code together as soon as I can and send it to your "other" email.

Thanks!

Keith

Have you guys got any answer to this question. I am also looking for an
answer for this problem. I was trying to convert from j++ to j#. I threw a
few warnings and chokes by thowing microsoft standard error report screen.

After that it gives an error in the task list that
Microsoft Visual J# .NET Compiler has encountered a problem, and needs to
close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience." etc.

Any information is helpful
