.NET Forum / Languages / Managed C++ / May 2007make to vcproj (or even nmake)
I'm trying to port a project from Linux to Windows. Currently on Linux we're using GNU Make and... of course... makefiles. Does anything exist out there to convert makefiles to vcproj files, or even nmake makefiles in at least a semi-automatic nature? I'm sure this gets asked a lot, but I can't seem to find an answer. You could continue using GNU make. For smaller things (maybe 30 files tops) that don't have any crazy make rules, I've usually dumped all the .c/.cpp files into a new Visual Studio project. That's usually a file or few too many, but it works reasonably well. If you're willing to burn an hour or two with a few compile runs, it works reasonably well.
