I need to develop plugins for various applications like Photoshop, Visual
Studio 2005, Word, Excel and 3dsMax.

Where can I find guides, faqs, introduction or tutorials for plugin
development?

Any help is appreciated!

Not in this group. :-)

Seriously, this group is more about the language and the tools than about
applications.

That said, you might start your search for help on automating Office
applications here:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/office/program/word/default.aspx

You should find some pertinent newsgroups as well.

You can go here for information on extending VS 2005:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/extend/

IIRC, the way you proceeed to extend VS2005 is very different from the way
for previous versions.

As far as the other products go - I have no idea.

Will
