Hello,
With the advent of all work being performed regarding the WS-*
standards, some of them already implemented in the .NET platform with
the release of WS 2.0.
Since my Web Services platform of choice is the ATL Server libraries I
would like to know what is the future plans regarging these new and
future standards?
Will they only be included in the ATL Server implementation regarging
VC 2005?
Or there is/will be a separate ATL Server download for the VC 2003
users?
Or worst they will not be implemented in the ATL Server platform?

Kind Regards
Cláudio

I'm not 100% certain, but AFIAK, the answer is option C - won't be supported
by ATL Server.

Carl is right, there will not be major enhancements to ATL Server in the VC
2005 release, nor a download for VC 2003. The .NET framework is where
Microsoft is investing for supporting evolving Web Services standards.

We would be very interested in feedback on features missing or performance
issues in the .NET web services stack compared to ATL Server. Either on the
newsgroup or by sending me a mail.

I suppose a third party will move in to fill the gap then. If they
haven't already.
