When I first open a  VC++ .Net project in VS2005 I get a message "object
variable or with block variable not set". When I click on the Forms icon to
display the Form, I get a messge "Can not open the file".  I also get a
message "There is no editor available for Form1.resx". I get the same results
with C# project.
I removed VS.Net 2003 from my computer and reloaded VS 2005 and I still
have the same problem.
Thanks for your help.

You may well find the answer here, in the VS 2005 groups:

http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp?icp=whidbey&slcid=us

If not, and nobody here answers, you'll probably have better luck in the
groups above.
