I am getting this message every time that I open an e-mail in Outlook or
hotmail.

Microsoft Visual C++
Runtime Error! Program: c:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual
way.

Can someone help me resolve this?

Update your system via Windows Update web site.
