GidPlus FontFamily constructor generating exception

When executing the line
FontFamily l_fontFamily(L"Arial");
I get an exception thrown. The Arial font family does exist on the computer.
What could be wrong?

i think you have to use L"Arial.ttf" (notice the suffix .ttf)
if this is not it, what is the error message of the exception?
