Hi

I'm trying to install .NET Framwork 1.1 on a Windows 2000
Professional computer.
The computer has all the latest service packs and security
fixes.

I downloaded a file from microsofts homepage
called "dotnetfx.exe" but when i try to install it I
receive a prompt saying "Microsoft .NET Framwork Setup
failed. If this problem continues, contact Product Support
Services".

I then tried to download it and install it from the
Windows update site but the install failes there as well.
When I look into the "Windows Update.log" I have an error
code 0x80070641. When I look in the "iuhist.xml" I have an
error code -2147023295.

Any ideas?
Thanks for your input.

Hi, Wayne

I, too, am having the same problem!

When trying to install "dotnetfx.exe" I eventually
end up with the error message, "cannot update
Windows Installer components".

Hmmm !

I am receiving the same error message.  Has anybody been able to resolve
it?
