I have XP Home edition, explorer 7

I am frequently experiencing duplicating of programs on my start menu. On
the start menu I have internet, outlook express and Microsoft money pinned.
After using a word document when either internet or outlook express are open,
I find the start menu shows these three programs duplicated.

Any ideas would be greatly received
