Am I the only one that has ever seen this error message?

I got the same message when trying to install the VS .NET 2003remot
components. I have not found the answer.

Have you made any progress

I got rid of this bug.  I think it was when I removed the built-in .NET
Framework Launch Condition.  With the launch condition, the solution compiles
without the InstMsiW.Exe & InstMsiA.Exe files; just my <package>.msi,
setup.exe, and setup.ini files.  With no .NET Framework launch condition,
the  InstMsiW.Exe & InstMsiA.Exe files are included.  Anyway, the program
uninstalls without the "Incorrect command line parameters..." bug now.

If you try this and it works for you too, you might post back here to
confirm my suspicions.

I get this error when installing remote components.  Any suggestions?

Well, you're the second person on this thread to have this problem when
***installing*** remote components.  My problem was when I was
***uninstalling*** a regular Windows application.  So these seem to be
different problems.  In any even, my application removal worked even before I
fixed my problem.  I just wanted to get rid of the bug.  I'd have to guess
that your installation is failing?

Could it be that a lack of permissions on the remote system is causing your
problem?  Just a guess since I've never tried to install remote components.

You might try starting a new thread on this to see if an MVP can help.
That's about all I can offer as far as suggestions.  Sorry.

Thanks, for replying.

I am trying to install remote components for vb.net 2003 so i can use remote
debugging for asp.net.  I have posted a thread on here last week in the .net
section, but i have no replies.

I noticed yesterday if i type msiexec /?  or msiexec /h I get the same
parameters error messagebox.  Would this leave you to believe that msiexec is
not working correctly?  oh, and i am logging in as administrator.  Another
thing, i am running these from a command prompt.  They are not in any code.

No, msiexec just displays the same message box for help and for invalid
parameters. This is no problem.

Did you create a log file? Does the setup work when you run it locally?
