I tried to uninstall .NET Fx 2.0 SDK using Add/Remove Programs and the
uninstall bombed.  Unfortunately, it removed the Add/Remove Program entry.
Now, the .NET Fx 2.0 is corrupted and it won't let me install or uninstall.

How do I clean an Fx off of my machine manually or with a script once the
uninstaller has become corrupted?

Hi

Since .net fx 2.0 is under beta test version, it has not been public
released, it may have something incompatible with current software and
hardware.
So far we have no such tool or article about such problem, because we did
not support beta product I am sorry for that.

Here is website specially for beta product, you may try to have a try.
http://beta.microsoft.com/

So far, I suggest you try to reinstall your system. :(

Unfortunately, a "reinstall" is not currently practical.

If you had to manually uninstall Fx 1.1, how would you go about it?

Thanks in advance!

Hi

Here is KB about Manually remove and then reinstall the .NET Framework 1.1.
How to troubleshoot Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 installation issues
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=824643

NOTE: this article is just applied to .net framework 1.1.
The .NET FW 2.0 beta 's registry information is different from 1.1.

Hope this helps.

Thx!

The support link for v1.1 install issues is pretty daunting but invaluable
in terms of peeking into the Fx-Hydra and MSI demigods.

Here's how I ended up getting .NET Fx v2.0 off of my system--and,
fortunately, much easier than the KB.

1. Ran the Beta 2.0 dotnetfx.exe, which generated an error report.  The
error report files detailed a guid to use for package removal.

2. Ran "msiexec /x <guid_in_report>"

Sheesh...
