Hi there,

I have .NET framework 1.1 at this point on my XP (Home ed.).
I am planning to install NET framework 2.0.
My questions are:
1.. Do I need to uninstall .Net 1.1 before installing .Net 2.0
   or can they co-exist ?
2.. Once I install .Net 2.0, is there any way I can "tell" my
   VS.NET 2003 to use .Net 2.0 and not the .Net 1.1 ?

Framework 2.0 is currently in beta. And it will only work with Visual Studio
2005. There is no way(short of a hack, which I don't suggest trying) to use
Framework 2.0 in Visual Studio.NET 2003 or earlier.
If you are going to try out Framework 2.0, you might want to download one of
the Express Product's Betas to try it out with.  Or you can order Visual
Studio 2005 Beta on CDROM from:
http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/vs2005/get/order/default.aspx

It is around $10.00 which is for shipping etc. And it beats a long download,
unless you have a high speed connection. You can download the Express
Editions of Visual Basic , C#, etc. and test with those too.
Either way, be sure to have a backup of your system before installing just
in case something goes wrong with the install. (or be sure to create a
restore point) I would not put it on my only system without some sort of
backup.
