Im getting this erro when I try to install .Net Framework 1.1

Product: Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 -- Internal Error 2908.
{7D4B5591-4C80-42BB-B0E5-F2C0CEE02C1A}

How I resolve this !?

Go to windows\system32 directory
rename mscoree.dll to mscoree.dll_bak

retry installatio

Renaming mscoree.dll did not help in my case as, when I tried the
installation again after renaming the file, I received the message that I did
not have .NET Framework installed at all and therefore no update could be
applied.
I am wondering if there is some form of 'global repair' function as I cannot
even perform a repair as I receive a similar error to the one above.

cost me 3 hours of repeated installs and 2 hours to find your posting.

I also had this problem and this is what worked:
1)rename windows\system32\mscoree.dll mscoree.bak
2)delete the folder windows\system32\urttemp
3)reinstall microsoft .NET Framework 1.1

The renamed file and deleted folder will be replaced.

Thankyou for that, I have now been able to reinstall the .Net framewor
as required.
