Hello,

I need to programatically backup and restore my windows XP machine. I
noticed that there is some inherent support for backup/restore in the system
tools installed by default. Does anyone know of a .NET API to
programatically perform these operations?

Thanks!

Hello Jim,
Based on my understanding, you would like to know if there is any
.Net APIs can be used to backup/restore the system.

If that is the problem, I believe there is no .Net API for
backup/restore system. However, you can use the SysBackup APIs
through Pinvoke to achieve your goal.

The following link is detailed information on SysBackup APIs:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-
us/fileio/base/backup_reference.asp

Hope this helps.

Hi Jim,

By the way, if you are using VC++.NET, you could refer to this article:
"HOW TO: Use the System Restore API to Save and to Restore System Data in
Visual C++ .NET"

Thanks.
