I'm looking at documentation in the SDK documentation describing wsdl.exe.

I cannot find the executable, not in framework 1.1 or in framework 2.0.

Can someone tell me where the tool is?

Thanks

I've noticed that it can be in different places, depending upon
installation.  My framework was installed with Visual Studio, so I found
wsdl.exe at:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003\SDK\v1.1\Bin

I installed the .NET Framework 2.0 Redistributables + .NET Framework 2.0 SDK
downloads from the MSDN site.  I do not have Visual Studio.NET.  From the
documentation, this tool is described as being part of the .NET Framework.
I hope it is not necessary to purchase VS to get it.

No, it's not necessary to purchase VS for wsdl.exe.

I do not know where the files get installed for the 2.0 SDK, but try looking
in c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework

Thanks for encouraging me to look at my install.

It certainly does.  It turns out that I did not install the SDK.  I only had
the redist installed.  After installing the SDK, all of the tools showed up
in C:\Program Files\Microsoft.NET\SDK\v2.0\Bin.

Silly mistake.  I tried to install the SDK, but the setup failed because the
redist was not installed.  I did the install of the redist package, but then
forgot to reinstall the sdk.

Sorry for wasting anyones time.
