We are pleased to announce that the Sept. CTP edition of the WinFX SDK has been released! For WinFX SDK Sept. 2005 CTP, you have the following options: Download and install the WinFX SDK from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C20CC6C8-1F4E-4A5C-BC79 -C2FE9ABE69AA&displaylang=en This site contains downloads for the SDK as ISO, x86 web download, x64 web download, and ia-64 download. Install the WinFX Runtime Components from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=FFD636F0-86E9-41E8-9E1C -100A4CC4888F&displaylang=en Install the Visual Studio Extensions for WinFX from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=EDE1A645-2A53-42E1-8482 -3BF1FADADE06&displaylang=en Each download page contains cross-links to the other related downloads. The Sept. CTP WinFX SDK documentation is available online at: http://winfx.msdn.microsoft.com/library The Beta 1 downloads are still available online and the Beta 1 WinFX SDK documentation is still available as part of the Windows SDK at: http://windowssdk.msdn.microsoft.com/library. I've downloaded the SDK ISO image but I can't get the installation to work. When I try to run setup.exe, or any of the .msi files, I get a popup message from Windows Installer which says: "This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package." Does this mean that my download somehow has a corrupt image, or is the image itself faulty, or is there something else that I need to do? Uninstall it 1st, redownload it, clear temp files, restart PC and try installing through the new setup file. Let us know if this works.
