Different performance showing a Form on a Development client and a
"normal" client.

Question 1:
I created a dialog (a simple AboutBox) in .NET and display the dialog
in Microsoft Word through a Word AddIn. On my development system the
dialog is displayed much faster then on a "normal" client (without
VS.NET).  Do more people have this problemen and is there a solution
for?

The code is build in VS.NET 2003 with.NET Framework 1.1. On the
"normal" and development system the .NET Framework 1.1 and 2.0 is
installed.

Quetsion 2:
After I restart Word the display of the aboutbox on my development
system is much faster then the first time. On the "normal" client,
this is not the case. There is no difference between the first and
second time.

Regards,

Johan.

Use FX cop, maybe there is some security issue, I would also check versions
of Word and updates for Windows/Word.

How can I use FX Cop? When I run FX Cop there are many warnings, but
where do I need to look for?

I would look at the Performance and Security items first.
The others should be reviewed at least.

FxCop is rather noisy, you can reduce most of the noise by writing a custom
rule set. If you don't have one, use your best judgement on what to fix.
