I am using the window.open method to show an explanation of a quote on one
of my pages. However, the pop-up blocker that comes with Windows XP's SP2
seems to block this (and I assume many other pop-up blockers would as well,
since I am guessing they look for the same stuff). I need to use the
window.open method because I need the new window to be resized and
repositioned immediately after it is created. Does anyone know of a simple
alternative or work-around I could use? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Why do you need another window ?

Why does this question have to be posted to "300+" groups ?

-----------------

Don't you simply have attention disorder ?

======================

Is your gender disorientation an acknowledged disease already in your
jurisdiction ?

====================

In other words, get lost.

You piece of sh**t.

Uncalled? You called.

===========

Make your popups alike.

If user want them, they call them.

===============

If not, be amazed how real life will copy you as a popup artists.

Expect a far greater resolve to your hit ratio in OE max length newsgroup
fields,
than you can sustain, buddy, because your knowledge of relevance is blank
zero.

You're right, you're not going to be able to  use a pop-up. How about
a hidden DIV that your javascript makes visible when it's needed?

Windows XP Service Pack 2 blocks, by default most pop-ups. It does not block
<i>all</i> methods to open a popup. I believe it is window.createPopup()
that still works, but I could be mistaken. One of them is allowed, for sure.
Probably showModalDialog or something like that. Sorry, I can't remember.
Google it..
