Hi,

I've been looking for information on this for a couple of days, but could
not find anything on that.

I need to write an asp application which creates word documents. This is
not that hard (from what I've seen), but the client wants the user to be
able to change the document after it has been created. On the other hand,
they don't want to install Office on every client (to save maintenance
costs; if necessary, they'd be willing to buy a license per client,
though).

So, is it possible to have Word being executed in the browser, something
like an ActiveX-Component? Somehow it should be possible, Application
Service Provider do exactly that, don't they?

Or would I have to re-write Word on ASP? *shiver*

Thanks for your help,

Roland

Roland,

I am currently consulting for an "application service provider" that
hosts windows/office environments in a Citrix/Terminal servier
environment. In this model both Word and your application would reside
on the same server and can deliver the content to the users local
browser.

Please feel free to contact me if this solution fits your needs.
